Each tool has specific guidelines regarding the types of data it supports, so make sure to understand the protections and restrictions of each tool before entering any data.

  • Before using these tools, please check with your department for any specific policies or guidelines. To meet BPM 12004, IT Compliance must review and approve each software use case.

Overview: Microsoft M365 Copilot Premium uses generative AI to assist with drafting documents and presentations in Word and PowerPoint, summarizing meeting notes and chats in Teams, analyzing and visualizing data in Excel, generating draft emails and summarizing email threads in Outlook.

Microsoft 365 Copilot logo

Overview: Microsoft M365 Copilot (Basic) uses generative AI to assist with drafting documents and presentations in Word and PowerPoint, summarizing meeting notes and chats in Teams, analyzing and visualizing data in Excel, generating draft emails and summarizing email threads in Outlook.

How to get:

  • Go to copilot.microsoft.com
  • Select the “work” option
  • Log in with your Single-Sign On
  • Once you are taken to the Copilot dashboard, verify that you see a green checkmark/shield icon in the upper right of the window. This means you are using the protected version of Copilot.

Overview: ChatGPT Education enables users to refine and steer a conversation toward a desired length, format, style, level of detail and language.

Leveraging a walled garden architecture, the platform is purpose-built to protect personal, academic, and institutional data. All user inputs remain private, encrypted, and fully shielded from unauthorized access or external use, giving users complete control over their information.

Any tool not specifically mentioned below has not been approved and should not be used until it has been reviewed.
