During student conduct hearings, CRR 200.020.F.8 gives discretion to the Chair to exclude evidence that is “more [unfairly] prejudicial than informative.” It is the opinion of the Faculty Council that under this provision, AI detection software reports should not be the sole evidence used for reporting students or misconduct proceedings. Faculty are encouraged to investigate concerns through traditional methods and to use evidence obtained through proper investigation.
